Ubuntu During COVID-19

Ubuntu’ is love! Ubuntu is solidarity! Ubuntu is sharing! Ubuntu is receiving with joy and gratitude!

Therefore, “Ubuntu is: If you have; give 😃 and If you need; take!!! Amazing isn’t it? As the body of Christ, The Catholic non governmental organizations(CATHONGO) Creations of St Peter’s Parish with “Ubuntu Army”, friends and associates joins the government and the entire Church fighting the spread of Covid-19 and its actual consequences as well as it’s post negative impact on the most vulnerable in our community.

Foster African solidarity (Ubuntu) by Encouraging those who have to share with those who have nothing. It is a Christian call to love one another as Christ has loved us. John 13:34.

Responding to the cry of the most vulnerable: foreign nationals, undocumented, refugees, including the disabled and any other person with discrimination of sex, religion, race or ethnic group…

During the lock-down period, many people who usually live from hand to mouth are abandoned in their rooms without food.
Instead of corona pandemic to be the first threat, but hunger has become the first threat and the most fearful enemy!!!

Hence we ask for donations of food parcels, rice, maize meal, bread, jam, oil, spaghetti, rice and any other non perishable food. You could also donate some cash that could help in various ways:
Buy food and other item to make hampers
Give them some cash for prepaid electricity as for most of them could get food but not electricity and Rent remains another big issue…

This is a way to see Christ in every human person; No wonder he tells us “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Mt 25:40).

As the body of Christ, we challenge one another, Christians and all people of good will to help bring a smile in the face of hungry people leaving in a particular family. We ask for the God of All power to shower you with his blessings!
As this Corona has helped us to see our frailty and unpredictable life could be, we need to trust God more than ever. Still we don’t know how this will end. We need to unite, pray and fight!

In conclusion as a Christian or a person of good will, please give us a parcel of food or money that will help a needy family during this time and which may be extended beyond our expectation.
