Second letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to Timothy (2 Tm 4, 1-8)

Beloved, before God, and before Christ Jesus who will judge the living and the dead, I beg you, in the name of his Manifestation and his Reign: proclaim the Word, intervene in time and out of season, denounce evil, criticize, encourage, always with patience and concern for education. A time will come when people will no longer support the teaching of sound doctrine; but, according to their whims, they will seek a crowd of masters to calm their itching to hear something new. They will refuse to hear the truth and turn to mythological tales. But you, in everything, keep measure, endure suffering, do your work as an evangelizer, carry out your ministry to the end. I, in fact, am already offered as a sacrifice, the time for my departure has come. I had a good fight, I finished my race, I kept the faith. I only have to receive the crown of justice: the Lord, the just judge, will give it to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have desired with love his glorious Manifestation.
