Reading of the second letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to Timothy
(2 Tm 3, 10-17)
Beloved, you, you followed me step by step in teaching, the way of leading and projects, in faith, patience, charity and perseverance, in persecution and suffering, those who arrived at Antioch, Iconium and Lystres, all the persecutions that I suffered. And from all this the Lord delivered me. Besides, all those who want to live as religious men in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
As for evil men and charlatans, they will always go further in evil,
they will be both misleading and deceived.
But you, stand firm in what you have learned: from this you have gained certainty, knowing well from whom you have learned it. From a very young age, you have known the Holy Scriptures:
they have the power to communicate wisdom to you, with a view to salvation through the faith that we have in Jesus Christ. All of Scripture is inspired by God; it is useful for teaching, denouncing evil, straightening out, educating in justice; thanks to her, the man of God will be accomplished,
equipped to do all kinds of good.
