Reading of the book of Exodus (Ex 34, 4b-6.8-9)

In those days Moses got up early in the morning and climbed Mount Sinai as the Lord had commanded him. He was carrying the two stone tables. The Lord descended in the cloud and came to stand there, near Moses. He proclaimed his name which is: THE LORD. He passed before Moses and proclaimed: “THE LORD, THE LORD,
God tender and merciful, slow to anger, full of love and truth. Moses immediately bowed to the ground and bowed down. He said, “If it is true, my Lord, whom I have found favor in your eyes, deign to walk among us. Yes, they are a stiff-necked people;
but you will forgive our sins and sins, and you will make us your inheritance. ”
Word of the Lord: We give thanks to God.
