Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark (Mc 12, 28b-34)

At that time a scribe came up to ask Jesus, “What is the first of all the commandments? Jesus answered him, “This is the first: Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord. You will love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. And here is the second: You will love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater command than these. ”
The scribe continued: “Very well, Master, you said the truth: God is the One and there is none other than him. Love him with all his heart, with all his intelligence, with all his strength,
and loving your neighbor as yourself is better than any offering of burnt offerings and sacrifices. Jesus, seeing that he had made a wise remark, said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared to question him anymore.
